My booklist is a mix of science fiction books, which I think are so fun. There are so many books that are so helpful to students in any learning environment.

My unit is over learning about Lions, Tigers, and Bears. The students will be making a book of their own over what we have read/watched about these three animals. They will have three sentences total in their book, one for each animal. The students will make sure to include pictures so that it brings color and a visual effect to their book.

The goal for this unit is to have students understand the importance of writing and making full sentences.

Objectives:

Students will be able to understand and know facts from the book about lions at 90% accuracy.

Students will be able to know and understand facts from the book about tigers at 90% accuracy.

Students will be able to understand and know facts from the book about bears at 90% accuracy.

Students will be able to write their own story on Lions, Tigers, and Bears with pictures and words at 90% accuracy.

Learning Topics

My learning topics are students will be able to write their own short story including pictures and words about Lions, Tigers, and Bears. I want my students to be able to help with their writing and understand why it is important that we know how to write sentences.

  1. Allie, The Magic Tree House books were literally my favorite books to read!! I used to have the whole sets of them when I was younger. Back then, I didn't even realize that I was reading to learn because they were so interesting! I think your reading list is great and relates strongly to your unit plan!

  2. Allie, like Courtney, I also loved The Magic Tree House books as a kid. They were always so fascinating and so fun to read. Also, they're so timeless because when I was previously observing in a fourth grade classroom a few of the students were reading them and talked about how much they loved the books. Overall, you have a great book list, thanks for sharing!
